In Places We Never Look
My heart was weak and spirit was low and the walls were closing in, the glimmers of hope were fading in the distance like a train departing from the platform. What was there to hope for, my shell was numb and tender, full of shallow worthlessness, was there a reason to go on or did the wonder of beyond beckon me. Where am I to turn in this the hour that I need strength, if I am to continue on this road that seams futile and desolate. Then, as Moses came to part the Sea of Galilee to save the Israelites, beauty was there to save me from the darkness that had entered my armor.
As I looked at the frame that encloses one of the things that reflects beauty onto my heart, the deadness drifted from my body like the misty due from a summer meadow. Beauty comes in many forms and the splendor that was encased in this frame possessed one of Gods’ breathtaking beauties. It’s the innocence’s and the joyous smile that a child possesses that can wipe away ones darkest thoughts with one stroke, as a wiper blade wipes the fallen snow from the windshield. All of a sudden the road that lay ahead is clear and one can see hills as beautiful mounds of Gods earth and not something that blocks the falling sun.
Children, have the gift of beauty that is unlike any other kind of beauty in the world. It is pure and unhampered with; none of the world’s greed’s of wealth, spitefulness or abhorrence’s has spoiled this creation of beauty. Children possess the ability to radiate this gift without even knowing. Beauty, therefore, is not always something that can be touched, held, or poured from a bottle. It is often around us as unobtrusive as the air that we breathe.
Beauty is truth and truth is beauty (T.S. Elliott.) It comes from within. We cannot appreciate, understand, or acknowledge beauty unless we are truthful to ourselves. Our world would be a far more nourishing place if we could be honest to ourselves. Why do we pretend to be a wholesome people when all we are doing is evading the truth? We are hot happy with what we have or indeed what others have. We strive to attain worldly beauty such as the perfect body, the biggest home on the block, or the latest in fashions off the runways in Milan. We are afraid to let others see our inner beauty to see whats really inside this façade, rather we project what society has deemed fit to show. A person that has the gift of inner beauty is not afraid of being who they really are or letting the rest of the world know who they are. They do not covet the falseness of others; they are content with their inner beauty of being a true person.
Shakespeare said “shall I compare thee to a summers day” where does beauty lay more abundant than in the glistening sunshine drenched days of summer. The warmth of the soft breeze as it caresses ones face or how the newly popped flowers parade their vibrant colors against the multitude of green backdrops. Summer time is aglow with Mother Nature’s teeming of beauty. It is so pure and delicate that it is unfathomable that its beauty could go unnoticed by the human eye.
As defined by Webster’s dictionary beauty is said to be a quality to what ever pleases or satisfies in certain ways, or as by color, form, texture, proportion or rhythmic motion. Where does one look without taking in the sight of beauty? It is all around us, if we take the time to acknowledge it or if we can see beyond our own hearts and see into the hearts of others.
Beauty, to each and every one of us can take many different forms, but the core things to remember is not to pass up the opportunity to recognize beauty when it confronts one. Beauty is something that can guide us through life and make us appreciate others and ourselves.
Now if I could only write something beautiful to get a good grade!!!!!!
